My son went from disliking learning due to his preschool experience to loving kindergarten. His teacher is experienced and accommodating of his impulsive and hyperactive tendencies. After school care is free. Enrichment programs are ample and good quality. He loves his enrichments/extracurriculars, has made friends and is overall thriving. He even asks to do homework at home without prompting. If homework is not done at home, there is homework help during after school care. I have really nothing bad to say.

Fantastic community-focused school. We have absolutely loved our time here! Our teachers have been fantastic and the administration cares deeply about each child. Truly the perfect neighborhood school for our family! Tours are offered for you to explore and see how wonderful it is for yourself! *Please notice that the years of the "bad" reviews are 8+ years ago*

This is the school where fights break out daily and staff are ok with kids literally throwing chairs at people. The students act like wild animals and staff turns a blind eye. Little to no learning takes place because the principal refuses to acknowledge that the problems are as big as they are. The bar is set so low for these kids. It’s so sad.

This school is incredible. The elementary school was recently ranked #1 in Philadelphia and it has been an incredible experience for my 2 kiddos. Every year the teachers have been so incredible - they really help the kids excel and cultivate special relationships with the students as well as foster a supportive classroom environment. We opted out of trying to get our kids into Masterman for middle school and I'm so glad we did because the middle school experience has also been tops. The teachers are very experienced and nurturing and the class sizes are small. Out of all of the neighborhoods in Philadelphia, we chose Queen Village (moved from Brooklyn) due to hearing great things about Meredith and I had no idea how much I would fall in love with this neighborhood, school, and the community. It's a really special place.

terrible staff; my niece is in 1st grade and her teacher gives her parents 0 communication! my niece also mentioned to us that no one played with her today. when we asked why, she responded with "my teacher said they couldn't talk to me or they had to give up recess time", she also came home today stating she had to sit out for recess because of “talking too much”, when the teacher never informed me of this issue my niece from day 1 has felt isolated and neglected by this school. this school shouldn’t be called a Christian school for allowing such behavior from ADULTS!!

This school needs a leadership overhaul. The interim principal Lauren Carnell is clueless and has zero communication skills. It’s clear the board handed her this job because they were desperate. It’s sad because this school actually ran well with Marlee Strawn in charge. The board needs to do the right thing and get rid of Lauren Carnell!

I am thrilled to share my glowing review of my child's school, a fantastic educational institution that provides a safe and nurturing environment for children to thrive. From the moment I set foot on the campus, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that exemplifies the school's commitment to creating a secure space. The dedicated staff, from teachers to administrators, consistently prioritize the safety and well-being of the students, implementing robust security measures that give parents like me peace of mind. The school's academic program is exceptional, offering a well-rounded education that balances core subjects with a wide range of extracurricular activities. The highly qualified and passionate teachers employ innovative and engaging instructional methods that ignite a love for learning in their students. I have witnessed firsthand the remarkable progress my child has made academically, acquiring invaluable knowledge and skills. Additionally, the school understands the importance of nurturing the whole child, providing ample opportunities for students to explore their interests and develop their talents through various extracurricular activities such as sports, clubs, and the arts. The school's strong emphasis on holistic growth is truly praiseworthy. Communication between the school and parents is outstanding, with regular updates and newsletters keeping us informed about school events and academic progress. The approachable staff promptly addresses any concerns or questions, fostering a strong partnership between home and school. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this school to any parent seeking a quality education and a safe environment for their child. Its commitment to excellence, focus on safety, and dedication to the overall development of students make it an exceptional institution that has positively impacted my child's life and education. With a 5/5 star rating, this school truly deserves recognition for its outstanding qualities.

Basically a private school minus the pricey tuition. No drama in the classroom which equates to no bullying. Teachers work tirelessly to ensure children stay on par with their peers and the school even offers free tutoring after school. There’s nothing that goes on at school that parents won’t be notified about because they make sure to communicate absolutely everything to parents. Also, their morals and values align with what we teach them at home and because of that we consider YA a treasure. We moved out children here from another local charter school and the difference in progress has been like day and night!

School is not what it used to be. There have been so many departures and many mid-year with little to no notice. The replacements are not good/strong hires. The class sizes have shrunk over the years as well as families have left. Academics are falling and school is challenged to field sports teams and extracurriculars as well. A lot of the school traditions have fallen to the wayside. There is no transparency like there once so find out things via children or internet posts. Its not a good situation or vibe for kids and families.

GSC has been an incredible journey for our family since our children started in pre-K3. The small class sizes create an intimate learning environment where each child receives personalized attention. The family atmosphere fosters a sense of belonging, and the faith-filled culture instills values that extend beyond the classroom. Our children have consistently had wonderful experiences, making GSC more than just a school but a second home for them. We couldn't be happier with our choice.

I want to start by saying I love Ms. Dookie. She has encouraged my daughter with reading and writing. Ms. Dookie has great communication and set the expectations at a level that are achievable. The Administration are helpful and make time to talk with me when they see me. My daughter doesn’t like when I pick her up early and that tells me it’s a good place.
